Mission Statement

SSM Group Ltd. is a market leader in the fields of training and consultancy intervention within the Supply-Chain, Logistics and Transport Management industry and the environment.

SSM Group Ltd. started out in 1997 as the Logistics Foundation Centre, after its approval and accreditation of the Institute of Logistics (UK). The Logistics Foundation Centre was set up with the responsibilities of providing educational and consultancy services in Malta and the Euro-Med region in the fields of Logistics, Supply-Chain and Transport Management areas. Eventually, the Logistics Foundation Centre was also entrusted to develop links to various North African countries.

This was the first time in history for a local training organisation to operate in Supply- Chain and Logistics whilst providing information and education services. SSM Group Ltd. is approved and licensed by the Ministry of Education in Malta to operate as a training centre in vocational education (Educ. Licence 216 / 98).

Today the Group has a worldwide network of resources, spanning three network branches in Malta, UK and UAE covering the Gulf and the Middle-East Region.

SSM Group Centre is located in the Central Harbour region of Malta in Hamrun, and the location is easily reached from anywhere in the island. The Centre consists of a very warm reception, administration area and a library. The library contains a variety of information from books, magazines and supplements to multimedia sources on supply-chain and logistics management, industry and environment.

The Centre consists of different training and meetings rooms and adjacent to them, there is a refreshment area with a small kitchenette. The aim of the Centre is to provide a one-stop solution to everyone and to every organization.

Mr. Alexander Borg MCIPS (Stam) MIM MILT U.K.

Mr. Alexander Borg is the Founder and Director of ‘Support and Supply Management (SSM) Group Ltd.

Mr. Borg graduated in Purchasing and Supply Management from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (C.I.P.S.) in Stamford and in Stores and Inventory Management from the College of Professional Management in Jersey U.K.. He also holds an international and recognized qualification in Logistics Management awarded by CILT U.K. and International.

Mr. Borg has been involved in training activities since 1994, where he was entrusted by the Employment and Training Corporation (E.T.C.), the National Government Body in Malta for Employment and Training to deliver innovative professional development programmes in various areas related to Supply-Chain Management.

In 1997, after becoming a Member of the Malta Institute of Management (M.I.M.), Mr. Borg was entrusted once again by the said Institute to deliver different management programmes. Today Mr. Borg form part of various training organisations in Malta such as; ETC /MCAST/MIM/ Malta Enterprise/ Chamber of Engineers/ Freeport Training Institute / Foundation for Educational Services/ GS1 Malta and others.

Mr. Borg is involved in various workshops, seminars, presentations in Supply-Chain, Logistics and Transport Management in different European Countries, North Africa, Gulf Region and South East Asia. He is being entrusted by various public and private organisations with different consultancy projects and assignments.

Mr. Borg is also Regional Director for CILT International (www.cilt-international) for UAE Region based at the Emirates Aviation College in Dubai. Through this branch CILT support Emirates Airline and Group with different courses and qualifications in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Mr. Borg is a member of the following institutions:
